U.S. President Joe Biden and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez agreed both andalusian military bases, Rota and Morón, can be used to receive Afghans. Spain says it could receive up to 4,000 people who have worked for the U.S. government.

On the other hand, other US bases such as Ramstein (Germany) will also host 7,000 Afghans.

In an official statement from the White House the conversation was confirmed:

President Joe Biden and President Pedro Sánchez of Spain spoke today about the latest developments in Afghanistan. They praised the dedication of their personnel in Kabul who are working together to safely evacuate their citizens, Afghans who courageously supported the work of the EU mission, and other vulnerable Afghan nationals. President Biden praised Spain’s leadership in rallying international support for Afghan women and girls. He also thanked President Sánchez for Spain’s assistance in temporarily housing Afghans at risk who are bound for the United States at military bases in Rota and Moron.
